Hi, I'm Geri. I'll be your guide throughout DEEA's training. Even though I have transitioned out, I want to let you know that you are in great hands with our new co-owners, Breanna Davis & Beverly Bautista! To start off, here's a little bit of info about my history. I’m the founder of DEEA, a storyteller, writer, educator, producer, and entrepreneur whose work is threaded in breaking barriers. As an educator and entrepreneur, I am the proud founder of three dance education organizations:
Liberate Artists INC,
Always, Enough Foundation, and
Dance Education Equity Association. In continuing to utilize dance as the catalyst for change, I serve on the Intersectionality Committee for the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science, am a board member for Feel the Beat, and I serve in an advisory position in DEIA and fundraising roles for the newly established Choreographers Guild. In addition to my work in education, I am the founder and executive producer of Boundary Issues Media. Boundary Issues Media is a digital and traditional media company that utilizes multiple platforms to tell one story or topic through the lens of underrepresented identities. From storyteller to educator to entrepreneur to producer, I inspire all to create positive change, in the positions in which folks hold power, while continuing to remind communities everywhere that, "You Are Enough," exactly as you are, in the skin and body you are in.”
